Amazonian
Manatee (Trichechus inunguis)

mammal in the Amazon Basin. This species of manatee can reach a length
of 3 meters and a weight
of up to 300 kg.

The manatee's closest relative
is the elephant and hyrax
(a small furry animal that

slow-moving. They spend most of their time eating, resting, and in travel.
Manatees are completely
herbivorous and consume up to 15% of their body weight daily in vegetation.

manatees is slow.
It is believed that one
calf is born every two to five years.
